Policy evaluation and social experimentation
The efficient use of resources is a major concern of the public sector, business, and citizens. For this reason, in recent years, the public administration has taken steps to improve the efficiency of their policies and transparency. In this context, the evaluation of public policies and projects is an essential tool, as it allows a determination of the kind of policies that are most effective and efficient and accountability to citizens on the use of their resources. At KSNET, we offer different services related to the evaluation of public policies and programs, while ensuring academic rigor and objectivity of studies carried out.
- Design and implementation of experiments: The best way to evaluate the effectiveness of public policies and changes in the mode of functioning of firms and the public sector is by experimental analysis, either applied to a properly selected group of persons or entities (field experiments) or by analyzing possible effects in a laboratory using economic theory (lab experiments). In this way, it is possible to evaluate the effectiveness of public policies and reforms before their implementation and at a reduced cost. At KSNET we are experts in the design and implementation of social experiments.
- Cost-benefit and cost-effectiveness analysis: Before implementing a new policy or developing a new project, it is important to identify the best alternative in relative terms of the relationship between invested resources and expected results. At KSNET, we conduct studies to determine the relationship between the costs of a program or policy and quantifiable public benefits or effectiveness.
- Impact evaluation with non-experimental methods: To determine whether a public policy or program has had the desired impact and to quantify it, we conduct impact evaluation with non-experimental methods. We conduct both parametric and non-parametric analyses, including difference-in-differences methods, matching, and regression discontinuity.
